Karate For A LIFETIME

Terrible things are happening in homes and at school.

It starts with children sacrificing their childhood to meet the demands of a system.
The system may have some inherent value,  but could that value be gained in less time
and in an environment where genuine interest in the individual is evident.  Spending
to many hours each day sitting in a classroom filled with people you would rather not be around.
That setting is  also  filled with  hours  of being involved with activities  that  do not contribute  to
learning  whatever the lessons are theoretically designed to  accomplish. Besides the above they
have to often get up in the dark and leave home most often without a nutritious breakfast.  This
may also occur in the absence of love and assuring support from parents and family members.

Children rush to school, go to recess, abide by rules that are developed and designed to control them.  Upon arrival at class precisely on time, put their belongings in a specific place and then go to their desks and sit still and quiet.  It all seems convenient for the teacher, but certainly not for the child.   Soon after, the child is required to stand and repetitiously state the Pledge of Allegiance  without ever being taught the reason why.  Why require the stating of a pledge with one nation under God and not allow the teaching or at least communicating about that holy being.

Should after they are demanded by rules or social protocol have to sit in those desks for 2 hours  before they get an opportunity for a recess.   Often the teacher keeps the students in class for 2 to 5 minutes and it takes 2-5 minutes to get to the playground.   Respect and responsibility are given lip service but rarely given by adults in the school.  Recess is the best part of the school day for many students.  Teachers and staff definitely need to improve in this area.  Steal the best part of my day-Shame on You.  Using the time frame previously mentioned the best time of the day has been destroyed.  Many more sad days in Mudville the mighty system has struck out.

Submission to rules and social pressure may not be the most effective way to inspire motivation to learn.

Drawing endless pictures to again theoretically learn to do basic math or arithmetic.  Arithmetic deals with the operations of adding, subtraction, multiplication and division.

The teaching  of these parts of learning math can be accomplished by spending more time with multiplication and division tables.  Any child with average intelligence can learn multiplication in 12 days or less.  The process of learning 1’s to 12’s can be accomplished by learning the 1’s the first day, 2’s the 2nd day and one number each day until the 12’s are learned.

Learning some skills can speed up the process.  Attention of the learner is extremely important.  So learn to effectively get the students attention, then educating the students to facts that make it easier rather than more  difficult.

  1.  Multiplying by 1, any number multiplied by 1 = the number
  2. Multiplying by 2, add the number to itself.
  3. Multiplying by 3
  4. Multiplying by 4
